What a slam dunk our
weekend was at Roger and Sabine’s farm. We have small children who, at 2 and 5,
are at impossible ages to travel with — and they couldn’t have been happier.
Horseback riding, a bookshelf filled with toys and board games, “our vacation
dog” (sweet Nala, who wandered into our unit from time to time to get loved on
by the kids), air hockey table, chickens, and more running-around room than
they knew what to do with. Roger and Sabine are charming and creative hosts who
really have thought of everything. The views from this unit are — you have to see it. Wide open sky over the river on one side,
straight into the big barn on the other. I had a view of horses, goats and
chickens while standing at the kitchen sink. We made some great family memories
at this Airbnb this weekend. Can’t recommend it highly enough.

Lovely property with lots of animals and a laid back atmosphere. Great hiking nearby and a quick drive
to Galena. Not fancy but everything we needed for meals and comfort was in the
unit. Roger is so welcoming; we really enjoyed spending time with him and the
horses hearing about their personalities.

We absolutely loved the ranch, Roger, Sabina,
and all their animals. From the moment we arrived until our goodbyes our
experience was magical. The children fell in love with the horses, the pig,
three dogs, ducks, chickens, roaster, the guinea pigs, Miniature horse, and
everything about this place. They keep asking when will we
go back. And even our little guy said he wants to stay with the horses for a long long time. We have stayed at
many Airbnbs in the past and I can say with utter
confidence that Roger is by far the best host we have ever encountered. He was
always available and made sure we were very well taken care of and that the
children had plenty to do. The sunset was incredible! We will definitely be back and stay longer next time. Thank you Roger and Sabina for a memorable time.

Cannot say enough position thing's about this
property or about the owners. Absolutely loved staying here. You are provided
everything you need from coffee, seasoning, shampoo, soap etc. Your child WILL
say they don't want to leave so be prepared. The owner's are friendly and carrying. Will definitely come again but with more time to enjoy

Be ready for an amazing stay! Be ware you might not want to leave! :) That was completely
spontaneous from my 11 year old son, which says it

Thank you to Roger
and Sabina for being such gracious hosts. Despite the hot, hot weather, they
were both so accommodating to whatever our needs were. My family loved spending
time with the animals. The unit we stayed in was perfect for all 5 adults and 1
toddler. The kitchen had just about everything we needed to cook up a hearty
breakfast. Towels and linens were clean. The dining room has large windows for
you to see out to the horse arena -- fun view of the horses early in the
morning. The only thing to note is to bring along some extra bottled water
because the tap water has a slight metallic taste. We all thoroughly enjoyed
our time at the ranch and hope to visit again in the future. Thank you again,

Wonderful place to
relax. The kids loved all the animals, taking a bike ride, having a camp fire, and getting horse riding lesson. The place was as
it was described and the owners were very nice and
accommodating. Perfect for a small or larger family. Lots to do in the area.
You will not be disappointed. House had everything you needed to cook meals.
Note to self: your child may become attached to one or more of the animals and
find it difficult to leave them:)

are terrific and made sure our stay was excellent. The farm is wonderful with

Roger and his wife was a great host. If you want to wake up to horses, watch a
pig eat a watermelon laugh as a German Shepard herds ducks, sit by a campfire
at night with a long hair dachshund at your feet this is the place to stay.

Roger was a great
host catering to the guests to provide a great experience. The farm is about 12
mins from downtown Galena and right by the ski area. We got to play with the
three friendly dogs, the miniature pig, ducks, chickens, horses
and goats. The dogs enjoyed hanging out with the guests so much that the come
up the stairs and quietly ask to be let in. The miniature pig roams around
looking for any food. The kids also enjoyed horseback riding on the farm. Overall a great experience.

Roger and Sabina are
so down to earth. My daughter's ages 16, 20 and 22 had a great time. They loved
all the animals especially the dogs. All 7 of us fit comfortablyin
the 3 bedroom apartment. I highly recommend staying

This is an
animal-lovers paradise! We came with our family and friends, and everyone had a
great time. Being able to interact daily with Roger and Sabina's pig, 3 dogs (all
of whom are incredible), horses, goats, and guinea pigs was a treat for our
whole group. And we even got treated to visits with the baby chicks and ducks!
Roger and Sabina are caring and responsive hosts who are very kind and clearly
love sharing their amazing space.

If you don’t end up
staying here make sure to visit the petting zoo and go
horseback riding at this wonderful ranch. Our family of 4 stayed in the 3 bedroom unit and had a such fun and memorable vacation.
Sabina and Roger are thoughtful, caring hosts with excellent communication and
are super cool people. Their kindness also comes through in how they care for
their animals. The dogs, pig, goats, chicks, ducks, and horses are the
friendliest animals that I have ever been around. Even the horses come up to
you to be pet. The animals were so gentle and friendly with my toddler and
active seven year-old. The apartment has great air
conditioning and an incredibly comfortable bed in the master bedroom. The views
are so cool- Mississippi landscape in one side and horse arena the other. We
can’t wait to go back and hang out with Sabina, Roger
and their animals!

Staying with Roger
and Sabina is an immersive experience! We loved interacting with the animals on a daily basis. My girlfriend used to be a bit afraid of
dogs but became quite fond of them (especially the little one). We enjoyed
talking and spending time with them as they had great stories. Roger even
played the guitar and sang for us. We also enjoyed the horseback rides as
neither of us had much experience with horses previously. A wonderful stay and
we look forward to visiting them again!

This is an animal
lover’s paradise! Nala and Pepper the two house dogs
hangs out at the apartment with guests and are so sweet. It was also incredible
being able to meet a pet piggy. My 4 year old enjoyed
meeting all the horses and had his first horse riding experience. Since he is
also fascinated with vehicles, Roger was also kind enough to let him view his
tractor. He is so good with kids and had so much patience with my talkative
son. From the windows we could see the trains running by the river, which was
also a treat for my son. Roger and Sabina’s place is clean and well kept,
couldn’t ask for more for a family road trip. Location wise about a 10 minutes drive to downtown Galena
and all the great restaurants.

I booked the ranch
for a one night getaway over my kids spring break. I
thought the kids would enjoy the animals but wasn’t exactly sure what to
expect. My kids absolutely fell in love with the horses, dogs, goats and pig. So much so that they are begging to go back
and visit them in June. Roger and Sabina couldn’t be nicer. And Galena is a really cute town. We look forward to going back this summer
and checking out more trails and maybe kayaking.

The trip that was
meant to be. This place is amazing. Our daughters
dream is to be a horse rider she loves anything horse related. She is a really quiet girl who does not often come out of her shell.
Right away she was out going. We got to have a camp fire with Roger and Sabina. We had food and s’mores.
Roger brought out his guitar and sang everyone a song and shared some fun
campfire stories. To our surprise, our quiet daughter stole the show and told
some amazing stories. I can’t think of too many times she was that outgoing and
happy. We were unsure how our autistic son would do on this trip. Little did we
know Roger and Sabina where very knowledgeable with autism and could use horses
in a way to work with autism. He did amazing on
horseback and was so confident. Our daughter was smiling ear to ear riding a
horse. Our apartment was nice the kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans.
The master bedroom has a really comfortable bed. Me
and my wife finally got a chance to relax. Their dogs were absolutely amazing and the little pig was really cute. We will be

It was our first farm
stay and we enjoyed so much. It was a truly one of a kind
experience! When you see the kids enjoy and happy that is what I call a great
vacation. Roger and Sabina’s pets were so friendly with people (including
horses!). Not to mention Roger and Sabina were an amazing
hosts!! We will definitely go back and try to

The Riverview Ranch
is a wonderful place to stay. I went with my 14 year old
daughter and her friend and they had a blast - hanging with the dogs, the new
piglet, watching the horses, kayaking in the MS River, cookouts over the fire
pit. All great. Roger and Sabina are terrific hosts, they provided tons of sun
block, bug spray (which is essential, the squitos
were very active) and the kitchen is very well appointed. Great place; I recommend and hope to return.

Roger and Sabina were
very gracious hosts! My children loved all of their
animals so much! They found it so cool to wake up a day "Hi" to a
horse standing below the dining window. The dogs, roosters, guinea pig, kitten,
and the horses were all so much fun. The proximity to downtown Galena and
Chestnut Mountain was a huge plus! The views were
beautiful and my son, the train lover, was over joyed to find that trains pass
in the distance in front of the ranch! We had a great trip. Thank you!

✨Amazing views- We thoroughly enjoyed the view
from our apartment, as well as being able to watch the sun set while sitting
around the fire. If you have kids you must ask Roger
to tell you about Sir Thanks Slot and Harry the Hairy Ape. Our daughter loved
it. ✨Our favorite part is
what drew us to Roger & Sabina's place, the horses. They happily allowed us
to mingle with and pet their 7 horses (after we signed the appropriate waiver).
I especially loved taking my morning coffee out and visiting with all of the
horses (Ayisha is particularly willing to come on up
for a chat and a neck scratch ). ✨Our daughter had a wonderful time riding Lucy.
Roger and Sabina were patient and encouraging while she was riding as well. I
highly recommend adding the riding option if you are coming with children. ✨We were only able to stay for one evening but we will definitely be returning for a longer
time. ✨We also liked that
their property was located near so many outdoor recreation areas as well as
being a short drive into downtown Galena so you may enjoy one of the many
eatery options or partake in some shopping. ✨This review wouldn't be complete without mentioning Bessie, Nala and Pepper (Roger and Sabina's dogs). Pepper happily
accompanied our daughter in and out of the apartment and all three were so
friendly. They were definitely an added perk of our

I cannot say enough
about how fun of a stay we had! Our boys (8 and 10) loved waking up every
morning and opening the dining room window to say good morning to the horses
and getting to ride them one of the days we were there. The accommodations were
fantastic as were the hosts. And there is SO much to do in the surrounding
area. We were busy from sun up to sun down, which we
had an amazing view of form the firepit. We will definitely
be back!

If you want to see
horses right outside your window, this place is awesome! Hosts were on site and

Everything was really great, my friend and I went, along with my dog (with
permission from hosts) and had a great stay. Roger and Sabina are so helpful
and friendly. The apartment had a lot more everyday stuff than I expected, and
so I definitely overpacked. They have a full kitchen
with everything you need to cook and the bedrooms and living room are very
cozy.

We had a wonderful
time at Roger and Sabina’s ranch. They are so kind and were such great hosts.
They went above and beyond and our daughters loved
them! We enjoyed a bike ride with their bikes and took them on the beautiful
road/trail the ranch is on. All three of our girls got to horseback ride for
the first time which was an unforgettable experience! Roger and Sabina even
built a fire and gave the girls marshmallows to roast
and Roger told us some campfire stories. Their dogs are so sweet and so good
with the kids. We have nothing but positive things to say about our time there.

For our family of
four, this was a perfect getaway. The apartment is clean, spacious, very
comfortable, well-stocked, and offers wonderful views, and the hosts are very
kind and attentive to any needs. We enjoyed time petting the horses and playing
with the adorable dogs. S’mores over an evening fire with a spectacular sunset
were especially sweet, and ping pong and air hockey in the lobby were fun each
day. One day we walked the .9 miles to the base of Chestnut Mountain, took the
ski lift up, and enjoyed using all-day passes for the
alpine slides. We’d brought a picnic lunch and loved the mountaintop views
while enjoying it. We also enjoyed Hoof It goat treks,
about 25 mins away. We drove through but didn’t spend much time in charming
Galena due to social distancing, so we ordered carry out food and also used the well-stocked kitchen to cook in. Cannova’s
Pizza, Galena Brewing Co, Culver’s, and Los Aztecas
were all delish! It was a perfect location for outdoor activities and for
relaxing in the comfy apartment. It felt like home. My 7yo and 11yo are already
planning our next trip back!

My wife and I enjoyed
a wonderful and restorative week of working vacation here. The apartment is comfortable and we slept very well on the memory foam
mattress in the Admiral's Room. By day we setup our computers at a desk and
table in separate rooms where we could both enjoy the cinematic views of the
Mississippi River valley. Roger and Sabina are consummate hosts, and they
anticipated our every need. Their horses and dogs are friendly and constant
sources of entertainment. The location is stunning, and we enjoyed kayaking,
biking, walking, grilling out, bonfires, and star-gazing,
as well as a visit to Chestnut Mountain and several trips into Galena. We look
forward to our next visit!

Our family loved
staying at Roger’s ranch. He and his wife went above and beyond to make our
stay enjoyable. The apartment was perfect for a family; well stocked for eating
in and lots of games for the the kids. We also hiked,
biked, and had many more recreation options right there on the property. Our

Amazing hospitality
and an extremely unique apartment with a large picture window on one side that
allows a view of the inside of a horse training arena (with 6 beautiful
horses!), and many windows on the other side that provide breathtaking views of
the property and the Mississippi River. The perfect place for a country/homey
vibe with an easy 10 minute drive to enjoy all that
Main Street Galena has to offer.

I stumbled across
this and booked simply due to it being a good halfway point, but it turned out
to be even better than expected. I wish we could jave
stayed longer. It was super cozy and the hosts went
